Terri ranks as one of the pillars of Lady Eagles athletics. The 1981 graduate was as versatile and dedicated as any player to ever suit up for the Eagles. A multiple all-conference performer and team MVP in three sports. A four-year starter in softball behind the plate. Hit an astounding .703 her junior season. A starter and leader on the volleyball team. It was in basketball where she really made and left her mark. The only Lady Eagle to crack the 1,000-point club. Finishing with 1,491 points, which still finds her in the top 10 scorers in school history. 'Little O' was known for her feisty hustle and ballhandling abilities. A four-year starter, she was named All-State honorable mention her final season. She was also lethal from the free throw line. She played with a ton of enthusiasm for her school and was a fine example in the classroom. When the girls' programs were new to the school, Little O was a big part of them all. After her playing days at Odin, Terri attended KC and played both softball and basketball for the Blue Angels. She led the softball team in hitting and also led the basketball team in field goal percentage and free throw percentage. She was named to the South All-Star team as a point-guard.
Terri attended kindergarten in Odin, but moved to Arkansas with her family for her dad's job soon after. The family returned to Odin in 1974, and by then, Terri's athletic abilities had begun to bloom. She played and competed in the Odin Little League against the boys, and was one of the top players in the league. Terri entered high school at the perfect time, as Odin featured a full range of sports for both boys and girls.
Terri is an avid turkey hunter and bow hunter. Traveling to many places in those pursuits. She is also highly regarded as a taxidermist, and has won several awards for her work from the I.T.A. Her place of business is in the village, as Little O's Taxidermy is known throughout the area and beyond for the quality of work performed there. It has been in business since 1994. As a master taxidermist, her work is of the highest quality and standard. She has received a national award of excellence for the highest scoring turkey at the World Taxidermy Championships in the Master Division.
Terri and her husband Gerald, have been married since 1989. They enjoy traveling to see their grandkids in different events, and to visit their son Eric and his wife, Karen. Terri has worked for 29 years as a medical assistant/office manager for Dr. Naeem Kahn in Centralia. She has a great interest in both gardening and her blue healer, Duke.
We are pleased and proud to induct Terri Owens Lively into the Odin Public School District Hall of Fame.
