Thanks to everyone who came to our Mental Health night last night! For those who missed it, here is the flyer and a quick overview!
In accordance to the Public Act 103-0885 ISBE has developed a plan to "recommend that Illinois implement a phased approach to universal mental health screening of all K-12 students enrolled in public school districts."
Maro, a mental health company, helps school districts by offering one application to provide mental health screenings, data collection, and referrals for mental health providers. We have joined in their pilot program to see what the best fit will be for us as the state pushes towards universal screeners.
Mrs. Haarmann, School Counselor, NCC, Mrs. KD, Social Work, LSW, Ms. Timmons, School Nurse, RN, and Ms. Abby, Social Services Specialist will begin screenings on October 24th for 2nd - 12th grade students. Parents will receive an email to opt out of the screening. If you have any questions please contact any of the mental health team listed above.
