On Tuesday, April 23rd the seniors and their loved ones gathered to celebrate their accomplishments. We were able to give away close to $64,000 in scholarship money!
Kaskaskia College Vice President of Student Services, Amy Zanton was there to award two students the Board of Trustees Scholarship. Azlinn Pratt and Makayla Star both received a full ride to Kaskaskia College in the fall.
Centralia Foundation member, Sheri Uchitjil was in attendance to award five students the Rollen & Lecta Rae Robinson Scholarship. Hailey Knox and Makayla Starr received $8,000 each, Azlinn Pratt and Mekenzie Kretzer received $6,000 each, and Jacey Wilkins received $4,000.
Sheri Uchitjil also awarded the Jack Minton Memorial Scholarship in honor of her father to Jacey Wilkins for $1,000.
Don Decker, member of the Masonic Lodge, was in attendance to award Makayla Starr their $1,000 scholarship.
The David M. Frimel Scholarship was awarded to Tyler Bivens for $250.
The Ples Wilson Scholarship was awarded to Makayla Star in the total of $150.
The Mary K. Doyle Scholarship was awarded to Tyler Bivens for $300.
The Miss Jenny Scholarship was awarded to Azlinn Pratt and Mekenzie Kretzer, both receiving $150 each.
The Ryan Myers Memorial Scholarship in the total of $500 was awarded to Hailey Knox.
Our local R.P. Lumber is always very generous in sponsoring two $500 scholarships to our students. This year Jacey Wilkins and Hailey Knox were the recipients.
We celebrated the academic scholarship that Hailey Knox received from Webster University in the sum of $8,000.
We also celebrated our student, Tylan Ayres, for his choice to join the United States Air Force.
